The stamp act raised the concerns among the colonists about Britain's right to tax them. The colonists claimed the they had the same rights has the Britain. So with the Patrick's stamp act resolved which consisted that English, especially the right to be taxed only by their own representatives; that Virginians should pay no taxes except those voted by the Virginia House of Burgesses; and that anyone supporting the right of Parliament to tax Virginians should be considered an enemy of the colony.

The formation of a group called the mob terrorized the British officials in the colony. However, this act of violence had strength and weaknesses. The mob were criminal, they didn't have only politics in mind. The population that were after them didn't even realize it. They vandalized people's private properties. The case of Thomas Hutchinson is a great example. These act of violence proved that the colonist weren't has great as they always told. They were as culprit as the British colonist. They could have protest in a different way. Protesting does not implies violence. They could have sent petition to the Britain Parliament. Even though they shouldn't use the mob as a political tactic, it was effective. The member of the parliament heard their voice and were ready to do something.
